About the Festival

DIL MAANGE MORE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL is an initiative of Northern Command of Indian Army for Empowerment of Youth of J&K and Ladakh in line with the Vision of the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi reiterating the importance of activities for NATION BUILDING. The Indian Army aims to achieve the same through Outreach, Training & Exposure by way of this Short Film Making Festival as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and run up to the Mega VIJAY DIWAS 2022 celebrations.

The Northern Command of Indian Army in association with Innovations India is organising the DIL MAANGE MORE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2022 (DMMSFF 2022).

DMMSFF 2022 is dedicated to the independent, talented and discerning film makers from J&K and Ladakh, who crave to showcase their deftness and craft of film making to the world via short films.

Dil Maange More Festival would serve as an effective platform to promote the talented young aspiring film makers of J&K and Ladakh to showcase their creativity to the world.

The Curator

Captain Rahul Bali

Captain Rahul Sudesh Bali is an Indian Army Veteran, Entrepreneur, Speaker, Curator, Film Maker and a Champion of Global Cultural Exchanges.

A well-known name in the Festival circuits across the globe, Captain Rahul Bali is the curator of DIL MAANGE MORE FESTIVAL and has been doing tremendous work curating cultures globally that immensely help strengthen the bilateral relations between nations. He believes Cultural Cooperation always leads to Commercial Cooperation and Festivals are the best means to achieve cultural cooperation between India and the world.

An alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy Khadakwasla and the Indian Military Academy Dehradun, Captain Rahul Sudesh Bali is the founder Managing Director of Innovations India an integrated marketing solutions and brand management company that has grown exponentially in the last 22 years to become a multinational identity with a global presence.

Captain Rahul Bali is the Curator of IFFW and recepient of the prestigious BEST CURATOR OF INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL ABROAD AWARD. He has successfully curated Mega Cultural Events and Indian Film Festivals in Russia, Vietnam, Poland, Hungary & Kenya where icons and superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, John Abraham, Manisha Koirala, Tabu, Arjun Rampal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Gulshan Grover, Raima Sen, Sushant Singh, Harshvardhan Rane, Imtiaz Ali, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, Rajkumar Santoshi, S S Rajamouli, Rahul Mittra, Umesh Shukla, Rajesh Mapuskar & Mikhil Musale have walked the Red Carpet.

Master Classes

Masterclasses by Award Winning and Renowned Filmmakers of India like IMTIAZ ALI, RAHUL MITTRA & UMESH SHUKLA would be organised in Udhampur in the offline mode for the benefit of participants. The same would also be telecasted online across J&K and Ladakh for the benefit of those who are unable to attend offline.

Festival Objectives

1. To empower youth of J&K and Ladakh and creating success stories for others to emulate.

2. To communicate the "good" and "traction" for a peaceful future.

3. To create & popularize positive audio visual content to augment NATION BUILDING.

4. To promote alternate vocations among youth of J&K and Ladakh.

5. An interactive Sadbhavna event as part of AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV celebrations.

IMTIAZ ALI

Imtiaz began his career directing TV programs including Kurukshetra for Zee TV and Imtihaan for Doordarshan. He moved on to Bollywood films in 2005, with his directorial debut with Socha Na Tha. His second film, Jab We Met was a box office success. He then made some of the most iconic and cult films of Indian Cinema like Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha , Jab Harry Met Sejal , Laila Majnu , Love Aaj Kal and many more. Imtiaz Ali has won accolades and awards for his brilliance in film making not only in India but across the globe including being awarded by the Government of Kenya & Government of Portugal. Imtiaz Ali has also been awarded for his work at many International Film Festivals around the world.

Rahat Kazmi is an internationally acclaimed film director and writer known for his feature film LIHAAF co-produced by Oscar winner Marc Baschet. Dil Maange More Short Film Festival 2022 is a competitive short film making festival where the top 3 winners would be awarded with Cash prizes, Trophies and Merit certificates by the Indian Army.

The Winners would also be given a golden opportunity to be a part of renowned film production houses in Mumbai under the mentorship of acclaimed film makers of India like IMTIAZ ALI, UMESH SHUKLA & RAHUL MITTRA.

The winning Short Films would also be screened at International Indian Film Festivals across the globe that would catapult the talented young filmmakers into international limelight.
